Privacy Policy
Last updated: 05/06/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DALCO Booking ("we", "us", "the Platform") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our online booking service to book an appointment with a salon. It's written to comply with the principles of South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Who This Applies To
This policy applies to clients booking appointments through a DALCO Booking-powered booking page. Each salon using our Platform is responsible for its own day-to-day interactions with you, but this policy covers how the Platform itself handles your information.
2. Information We Collect
When you make a booking, we collect:
- Your name and phone number
- The service(s) you select, your chosen staff member (or "any available"), and appointment date/time
- Booking history, including cancellations, reschedules, and no-shows
We do not collect payment card details or other financial information — payment for services happens directly between you and the salon.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your booking
- Send you booking confirmations and appointment reminders by SMS
- Allow you to look up, cancel, or reschedule your own booking using your phone number
- Allow the salon to manage its schedule and contact you if needed
4. Who Can See Your Information
Your booking information is visible to authorised staff at the specific salon you booked with, based on their role (for example, front-desk staff, stylists, or managers may see different levels of detail). We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We use a third-party SMS provider (BulkSMS) solely to deliver booking confirmations and appointment reminders. We use Supabase, a secure cloud database provider, to store booking data. These providers only process your data to help us deliver the service — they don't use it for their own purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your booking information for as long as necessary to provide the service and to allow the salon to maintain reasonable business and client records. You may ask that your information be deleted, subject to any legal or record-keeping requirements the salon may have.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, or misuse, including role-based access controls and secure data storage.
8. Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or record-keeping requirements
- Object to how your information is being used
To exercise any of these rights, contact the salon directly, or contact us at [insert contact email].
9. Cookies
Our booking page uses only the minimal technical cookies necessary to make the booking process work correctly (for example, keeping you logged into your own booking session). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
10. Children's Privacy
This service is not intended for use by children without the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent changes.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, please contact us at dalcostudios@gmail.com / +27 68 631 0521.
